Painted Earrings

Students can freeform their design or use photos for reference. Students will learn how to properly attach ear wires as well as be able to decorate their earrings with beads if desired. Beaded Garden Art

In this class, students will create a beautiful suncatcher using wire and assorted czech glass beads, a beaded basket hanger, and a plant stake to jazz up your favorite planter or house plant. Bling it On!
When: Saturday, April 22, 2023 Time: 1230 PM - 230 PM Where: LaVista Community Center, 8116 Parkview Blvd, La Vista, NE 68128 Instructor: Stephanie Harris Class Fee: $40 Class Level: Beginner In this class, students will learn how to "bling" a set of sparkly accessories: earrings, an acrylic keychain, and a pen using flatback rhinestones. We will go over the tools and supplies needed for working with rhinestones and practice different techniques for applying the rhinestones, including using a grid pattern and patterned vinyl. These same techniques can be used for creating a beautiful rhinestone tumbler. All supplies and tools are provided by the instructor. Shrink Plastic Jewelry Components When: Saturday, April 22, 2023 Time: 300 PM - 430 PM Where: LaVista Community Center, 8116 Parkview Blvd, La Vista, NE 68128 Instructor: Stephanie Harris Class Fee: $35 Class Level: Beginner Shrink Shrank Shrunk! Remember how much fun Shrinky Dinks were when you were a kid? In this class, you will discover that fun all over again as you explore techniques for making funky, whimsical jewelry components out of shrink plastic. Students will have the option to use paint markers, colored pencils, alcohol inks, and permanent markers to create their mini masterpieces. We will use a toaster oven or heat gun to shrink and mold the student designs into charms, bead caps, dangles, rings, and more that can be used to create jewelry or other accessories. All supplies and tools are provided by the instructor. Additional kits and templates will be available for purchase from the instructor. |
Zipper Needle Felted Art Pendant with Shrink Plastic Charm Class When: Saturday, April 22, 2023 Time: 12:30 PM - 4:30 PM Where: LaVista Community Center,8116 Parkview Blvd, La Vista, NE 68128 Instructor: Rhonda A. Berman Class Fee: $45 (All Supplies included) Class Level: Beginner We will be making a pendant using zippers and roving. The zipper is hand sewn on to wool felt making an outline of a design. The inside is then filled in with wool roving using the technique of needle felting. Then beads and other embellishmnets are added. The pendant is finished with a bead embroidery edging. The charm will be made of shrink plastic with various beads and metal pieces. The process of decorating the plastic piece with colored pencils and melting into a mold to achieve the bead cap shape will be explained. It is assembled into a charm and attached to the pendant with the beading edging. This class is open to all skill levles. If you can thread a needle, you can do this art form; however, very sharp needles are used so it is preferable if students are at least 12 years of age. Needle felting and beading experience are a plus, but not a prerequisite for this class. All materials are provided by the Instructor. Class fee: $45 Class time: 4 hours |
Polymer Clay Slab Workshop
When: Saturday, April 22, 2023 Time: 1 PM - 230 PM Where: LaVista Community Center, 8116 Parkview Blvd, La Vista, NE 68128 Instructor: Skyler Thomas Koehn Class Fee: $30 Class Level: Beginner In this class you will be making your very own polymer clay slab (approximately 3.5in by 4.5in)! Starting with a slab of black clay as a canvas you will be using small pieces of colorful polymer clay and cane slices on it to form a beautiful pattern. After you are satisfied with your design we will use cutters to cut shapes out of the slab. All clay materials and cutters will be provided as well as a few magnets jump rings and necklace cords (up to 6). I will send you home with instructions on how to bake your pieces and from there you can turn them into magnets or pieces of jewelry! **You will need super glue at home if you're making magnets** |
Mixed Media Birdhouse Charms
When: Saturday, April 22, 2023 Time: 3 PM - 430 PM Where: LaVista Community Center, 8116 Parkview Blvd, La Vista, NE 68128 Instructor: Natalie Runyon Class Fee: $20 Class Level: Beginner They may be too small for actual birds, but you can be sure you’ll be ready to welcome Spring with these adorable mixed media birdhouse charms. Choose from a wide array of our ephemera, learn to emboss versatile metal tape, and decoupage origami and other art papers to create one-of-a-kind works of art suitable for May baskets, Mother's Day, or other "charming" gifts. Artists will make two birdhouses - a tiny one and a larger one. Supplies: Students will select a kit that contains wooden and other mixed media bases, cords, and findings. Students will be able to choose from ephemera offered by the instructor. Kit Fee: $15 and is payable to the instructor at the time of class. All necessary supplies are included in the kit. Tools: No additional tools are needed. Skill Level: This class is suitable for all levels of beading or crafting experience. |
