We will be learning the basic steps of creating a Dorset Button. Thread is wrapped then woven over a plastic ring using various stitches and weaving techniques. Different threads and colors will be available. They can be used as traditional buttons, however as with any art, the ideas are only limited by imagination. Buttons have been used in jewelry or accent pieces on other items. Examples will be shared in class well as a brief history and book options. This class is open to all skill levels, if you can thread a needle, you can do this art form. Please bring your close up glasses if needed.
