We will be making Mini Charms using zippers, roving and embellishments. A zipper is hand sewn onto wool felt making an outline of a design. The inside is then filled in with wool roving using the technique of needle felting. By using a smaller zipper, the mini charms are about the size of a quarter.
Time in class will allow for the making of 1 possibly 2 charms. There are 4 different sets to select from. Bugs, Flowers, Hearts and Christmas. Students will learn also how to prepare a zipper and apply a pattern. Instruction of needle felting will also be included in this class as well as embellishment tips.
Finishing options will include examples of how to use the mini charms and a list of additional tools needed (jump rings, plyers, etc.). Some options are listed below: Bracelet - Dangle Charms or linked together
Earrings - different charms or the same in reverse (will show how to flip the design) Knitting markers Buttons
Kit Fee: None. All supplies to complete at least two charms are included.
Tools & Supplies: The instructor will provide all tools needed in class. Students should bring their close up glasses if needed.
