We will create art with this fun print making technique. I love using plants and other natural items in this process and watching the magic happen. Native Style Beaded Medallion

Stamped Cuff and Earrings

Angie will walk you thru the different steps and techniques to create unique pieces that allow you to convey a message, create a scene or honor someone or something. We will also cover highlighting the stamping and texture using different mediums and finishing materials. Spring Watercolors

Reverse Painting Acrylic Components

Honey, I Shrunk the Zipply Art! Mini Charms Class When: Saturday, April 20, 2024 Time: 1230 PM - 430 PM Where: LaVista Community Center, 8116 Parkview Blvd, La Vista, NE 68128 Instructor: Rhonda Berman Class Fee: $45 (All Supplies Included) Class Level: Beginner We will be making Mini Charms using zippers, roving and embellishments. A zipper is hand sewn onto wool felt making an outline of a design. The inside is then filled in with wool roving using the technique of needle felting. By using a smaller zipper, the mini charms are about the size of a quarter. Time in class will allow for the making of 3 to 5 charms, however each student will go home with the patterns/pictures of ALL 10 different charms. Students will learn also how to prepare a zipper and apply a pattern. Instruction of needle felting will also be included in this class as well as embellishment tips. Finishing options will include examples of how to use the mini charms and a list of additional tools needed (jump rings, plyers, etc.). Some options are listed below. Bracelet - Dangle Charms or linked together Earrings – different charms or the same in reverse (will show how to flip the design) Knitting markers Buttons This class is open to all skill levels. If you can thread a needle, you can do this art form, however very sharp needles are used so it is preferable if students are at least 12 years of age. Arrow Peyote Bracelet When: Saturday, April 20, 2024 Time: 1230 PM - 230 PM Where: LaVista Community Center,8116 Parkview Blvd, La Vista, NE 68128 Instructor: Jerri Wiskus Class Fee: $45 Class Level: Beginner In this class, students will learn how to make a bracelet using peyote stitch. The instructor, Jerri, has been been seed beading for many years and does a lot of Native American bead work. Kit Fee: $10. The kit includes beads, thread, beading needle, and a button. Supplies: Students should bring reading glasses (if needed) for close up work. Tools: Students should bring scissors. All other tools are included in the kit. |
Boho Bead Party When: Saturday, April 20, 2024 Time: 1 PM - 3 PM Where: LaVista Community Center,8116 Parkview Blvd, La Vista, NE 68128 Instructor: Stephanie Harris Class Fee: $30 (All Supplies included) Class Level: Beginner It's a Boho Bead Party! In this class, students will learn several techniques for constructing Boho beads from fabric, fibers, ribbon, wire, tiny accent beads, paper, and other upcycled materials. There will be plenty of materials for students to create multiple beads that can be used in a wide variety of jewelry and mixed media projects. Sun Prints & Stitches: Cyanotypes Part 2

We will use indigo dyed and printed fabrics and materials created using the cyanotype printing techniques. The kits will also include a variety of beautiful vintage materials and embellishments to work with. Learn hand-embroidery stitches as well. Messy Memory Wire Bracelet
When: Saturday, April 20, 2024 Time: 230 PM - 430 PM Where: LaVista Community Center, 8116 Parkview Blvd, La Vista, NE 68128 Instructor: Denise Anton Wright Class Fee: $45 (Supplies Included) Class Level: Beginner Is your desire for perfection hampering your jewelry making? Well, it's time for you to get messy! Instructor Denise Anton Wright will guide you through the process of turning memory wire, sari silk ribbon, wire, and freshwater pearls into this incredible Messy Memory Wire Bracelet. Physical movements required in this class include stringing pearls onto wire, repetitive wrapping, and using a scissors, memory wire cutter, and pliers. Each student will receive enough supplies to make at least one finished bracelet. Supplies include: flat memory wire, 26-gauge silver-plated wire, approx. 10 feet of sari silk ribbon (students will be able to select from a variety of colors/patterns), approx. 80 small freshwater pearls, two large freshwater pearls, and approx. two feet of 20-gauge silver-plated wire. Leather & Bead Magnetic Bangle When: Saturday, April 20, 2024 Time: 3 PM - 430 PM Where: LaVista Community Center, 8116 Parkview Blvd, La Vista, NE 68128 Instructor: Diana Noonan Class Fee: $30 (Supplies Included) Class Level: Beginner In this class, you will learn to make a magnetic beaded leather bangle using both braided and Indian leather. We will string a unique mix of Czech and Japanese glass and metal beads on Parawire. This is secured to the braided leather using silk wrap technique. We will then wrap Indian leather around the braided in a similar fashion. The bracelet will be cut to your desired length and the magnetic clasp attached completing the Boho-chic design.
