WHO WE ARE Two groups have partnered together to bring a fun bead and more show to the Omaha area. Both groups are nonprofit organizations who are open to jewelry makers and crafters of all interests and skill levels. The groups generally meet monthly to show off our completed projects, learn a new techniques, get help on a difficult project, or just to socialize and glean creative inspiration from our friends.
Both groups are committed to donating time and resources to various charity groups, teaching classes and encouraging creativity.
We love new members and new ideas.
Midwest Lampworkers Guild Midwest Lampworkers Guild has at its heart glass beads—the making, the detailing, the continued learning—but incorporates other media as well—wire wrapping, stringing/designing, seed beading, and others. Our members are diverse in their creativity and work. The Guild also fundraises for and supports the Beads of Courage program at Children’s Hospital and Medical Center in Omaha and internationally. We meet at the Hot Shops Art Center, 1301 Nicholas St. To learn more or join us for a meeting or bead bash, find us on Facebook at the link below.
Omaha Beady Bunch The Omaha Beady Bunch was founded in 1997 when a group of women who loved beads and beading decided to organize a “club” and meet monthly. The Omaha Beady Bunch is a non-profit educational organization. It’s purpose is to share beading knowledge and techniques regardless of one’s skill level.
The Omaha Beady Bunch meets monthly on the 4th Thursday of each month at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church (84th & Pacific) at 6:30 PM. Monthly meetings often include a member-taught project or technique. Members may also choose to participate in the annual Beady Bunch challenge which features a "theme" that is open to creative interpretation;
The Omaha Beady Bunch has a long history of community involvement and currently sponsors Casting for Recovery, creating beautiful jewelry that are gifted to participants each year. Previously, the group sponsored the Edna Perkins Project honoring Veterans and their loved ones annually.
If you love to bead, think you would love to bead, or used to bead, please join us. It is a wonderful group of caring and sharing members that will make you feel at home and welcome! We hope to see you soon.
