Micro Mosaic Jewelry
When: Sunday, April 21, 2024 Time: 10:15 am – 12:15 pm Where: LaVista Community Center, 8116 Parkview Blvd, La Vista, NE 68128 Instructor: Stephanie Harris Class Fee: $40 Class Level: Beginner In this class, students will create one-of-a-kind, wearable pieces of art using mosaic techniques, beads, and metal bezels. Students may choose to make a pendant and bracelet component or a pendant and earrings. No artistic skills or experience needed! Kit Fee: None. All supplies are included: choice of bezels, assorted beads, glue, grout, UV resin, mica powder, and jump rings. Tools: All tools are supplied by the instructor. Students may bring a task light or readers if desired. |
Hand Painted Earrings

Create your individual design on wood using acrylic, watercolor or markers! No artistic ability is required, REALLY! The instructor can help you design and execute your mini painting. There will be a selection of beads to add an additional pop of color and sterling silver ear wires will complete your work. Kit Fee: None. Supplies: All supplies are included: Wood earring blanks, beads, headpins, ear wires, paints and markers. Tools: All tools are supplied. |
Quilling Pendant

Kit Fee: $0. Kit is provided as part of the class fee. Supplies: All supplies needed are included in the kit or provided by the Instructor. Additional supplies will be available for purchase. The kit and supplies includes a fabric pouch with zipper, quilling tool, Stainless steel scissors, stainless steel tweezers, Dotting/indentation pen, curling coach for card making, precision tip glue applicator bottle, and glue with funnel. Tin Menagerie
When: Sunday, April 21, 2024 Time: 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM Where: LaVista Community Center, 8116 Parkview Blvd, La Vista, NE 68128 Instructors: Valerie Russell, Natalie Runyon, Kim Mueller, & Lisa Kee Class Fee: $35 Class Level: Beginner Save your cookie and popcorn tins...or plan to use pieces from our extensive selection (cost included-no supply fees required!). We'll be snipping them bugs, birds, and our other magical metal creatures to create mixed media ornaments, fastening them with cold connections, and glamming them with repurposed jewelry pieces that would make a magpie envious. This is a great way to welcome spring by upcycling winter gifts. We hang our tin creations in the window, above the kitchen sink, on the wall... can't wait to see where you will hang these adorable art pieces! No children please -- the tinsnips require some ooomph. Kit Fee: None. Everything is included. Supplies: The instructors will provide tinsnips, gloves, hole punches, embossing machines, sand paper, & scissor. Students should bring their own protective gloves if available. Let's Play with Fire: Making Lampwork Glass Beads
When: Sunday, April 21, 2024 Time: 1230 PM - 230 PM Where: LaVista Community Center, 8116 Parkview Blvd, La Vista, NE 68128 Instructor: Jeri Wiskus Class Fee: $65 Class Level: Beginner In this class you will learn how to make lampwork glass beads. The class starts with and overview of safety, equipment and then dives into bead making using hot head torches to melt glass. Each student will try to make 5-6 glass beads. Kit Fee: $15, includes glass, bead release, and gas. Kit fees are payable to the instructor at the time of class. Supplies: Students are asked to bring safety glasses or reading glasses. No open toe shoes. Long hair needs to be pulled back. Tools: All required tools are provided by the instructor. |

Beaded Macrame and Ladder Wrap Bracelet When: Sunday, April 21, 2024 Time: 1230 PM - 330 PM Where: LaVista Community Center, 8116 Parkview Blvd, La Vista, NE 68128 Instructor: Diana Noonan Class Fee: $50 Class Level: Beginner Create a unique beaded 3, 4, or 5 wrap bracelet using simple laddering and flat knot macrame as the foundation. Explore how small deviations from these will yield numerous textures and patterns. No two bracelets will be the same! Wire Wrapped Heart Pendant
When: Sunday, April 21, 2024 Time: 1230 PM - 300 PM Where: LaVista Community Center, 8116 Parkview Blvd, La Vista, NE 68128 Instructor: Angie Simonsen Class Fee: $55 Copper or Brass, $65 for Sterling Silver Class Level: Beginner Learn to create a wire wrapped heart pendant that will be as unique as you! This base weave style can be used in many other applications and designs, and you will learn all of the tricks and techniques needed to move onto more complex weaving styles if you desire. We will do some light forging and finishing techniques to add extra visual interest and oxidize the wire to highlight the intricate wire work. This is a great technique to learn that doesn't require many tools or supplies to do on your own in the future! Kit Fee: $0 The brass and copper kits will include the base wires for the heart, you can choose the wrapping wire (brass or copper) at the time of class. The sterling silver kit will include the sterling silver wires to create the base and sterling silver for the wrapping. You are welcome to use brass or copper as the wrapping wire if you'd prefer. Supplies: All supplies are included in the class fee. Tools: All necessary tools are provided by the instructor. |

If you have a stash of tin boxes that formerly housed mints of a curiously strong persuasion, we have a lovely use for them. Come transform tin pocket containers into beautiful trinket chests – they may just be what you need to store your new treasures from the Bead Affair! Bring your own tins...or plan to use ours (cost included-no supply fees required!). Come join us for a rousing session of embossing, patterning, and even making fabric dividers, followed by a dive into The Soul Create’s own treasure chest of repurposed jewelry pieces for that touch of sparkle. Kit Fee: $0 Supplies: Embossing machines, sand paper, & scissors. Students should bring tin mint boxes if possible. The instructors will bring some to share.
